We started this web site just to show off our hobby farm, and have an outlet for my love of taking loads of pictures and showing them off. LOL It has grown into being pretty much my outlet for showing off my rabbitry. We started out with Californians and New Zealand's in Jan/09 just for the meat purpose, but when those cute little kits stuck their heads out of the nesting box, there went any idea of raising them for meat. LOL So I knew I was going to have to try and find some outlet for all these guys. So when I came across a little rabbit that came free with a cage I bought, I got bit with the Netherland Dwarf bug. I have since turned all of the rabbitry into raising show quality Netherland Dwarfs. The Fall of 2010 we had to sell out of our Cal’s and NZ’s, they were just eating us out of house and home, and my husband had lost his job. We plan on getting back into them when we are able to get back on our feet. God blessed us with getting a job about a month and a half after loosing his other one. So with in time we should be able to get back into our beloved Cal’s again. We plan on moving up to MN or ND, and hope to get settled in there by April 2012. I will give it a few months but hope to get back into Cal’s soon after that. We have done very well on the show tables the past year and a half, because we got some high quality rabbits from a few select breeders. Of which I would like to mention them here. Darrell Lohrey of Raspberry Run based out of Hamilton OH, helped me with letting me have a few high quality ND’s, but more importantly he has been a real friend and mentor. He has open my eyes to the world of showing these guys, and trying to breed to improve the breed rather then just doing it to see what you can get. We have also gotten a few good ND’s from the Bond’s, they gave us our start in breeding for Silver Marten ND’s, sad to say we had to put aside the Silver Marten program for now. We got some amazing Himi’s and SS’s from Phil Woollet, and have successfully bred some good show babies out of his lines and Darrells lines. And we have continued with getting some great stock from Gary and Susan Smith. They also were kind enough to take quite a bit of time with us and we enjoyed learning new things about our wonderful breed. I hope that I can be as good a friend and mentor to those who come to me for help as these guys have been for me. Thanks to you all, and any other breeders out there that have just taken their time to help me out with all of the questions I have had, you know who you are, thanks.
